| I am so disappointed with this power your way program. I only looked into it
because it came with my electric bill and I thought it was a NY state program
where the consumer was made the priority and the state had built in safeguards
for it's constituents. I went into an agreement with Accent Energy for 1 year
at a fixed rate plan. I have ended up paying over $250.00 more over the course
of the agreement then if I stayed with Con Ed as my supplier.
I have called Accent to cancel my agreement and they say that to terminate the contract early will cost me $80. ---but then they tell me that no fee would be assessed if I terminate on the day the contract expires but I would have to have Accent as my supplier for another 30-45 days (so really I'm tied into them for 1 year 1 1/12 months) I asked to start the termination process earlier so that I could end my relationship with Accent as soon as possible(the day the 1 year contract terminates) without be fined the $80.00. They said they can't do that. To top it off the phone connections are always horrible and the customer service reps turn your questions into a sales pitch for them--It's like their trained to give you a run around until you just throw your hands up in the air and give up. Is there anything I can do to get out early and /or make a formal complaint about the horrible customer service and overall dis-satisfaction I have experienced? Going back to con ed as my supplier ASAP [I recommend filing a complaing with the Public Service Commission. - Ed.] Fyi -- so I filed a complaint with the link you provided me to the PSC the same day we emailed each other(2/15/07) ---and wouldn't you know the agency contacted Accent and I just got a message from Accent (2/16/07) stating they will be letting me out of our relationship early with no penalty to me. It's nice to see a state agency work for me with no red tape--It's a shame it had to come to the fact that I had to contact a state agency.---and as far as Accent goes--- even the message they left me was rude---The rep [...] still insisted that by contract they were right but because I ended up spending more with them as opposed to saving they will relinquish me out of our agreement as a courtesy. Ultimately I'm happy I'm out of it and I will never switch suppliers again and if I meet someone looking to switch I'll advise them to be very careful and avoid Accent Energy at all costs---I truly can't think of one thing good to say about my experience with that company----even the sign up was difficult -- and it just went down hill from there-well--thanks for your help Adam R., Westchester - 2/15/07
Accent Engergy Responds - June 2009 Hello, http://poweryourwaytruth.org/testimonials.html We
take any customer complaint very seriously. I asked J., our
Regulatory Compliance Coordinator, to research this customer. We did
have one customer with a first name of Adam and last name starting with
R in Westchester who was a customer during this period. His contract
ended on 3/30/2007 and he did not renew with us, it’s also worth
nothing that he did not cancel his account. Jodi did a search for all
NY PSC, BBB and AG Complaints and Inquiries and there were no results
for a Adam R. from Westchester (or his account number) as his post
states. We also have no internal files related to this account. We would appreciate it if you would consider removing this testimonial entirely from your site as it is not accurate. J. |
